On September 21, 2025, we participated in the Awaji Traditional Performing Arts Festival hosted by the Kuniumi Myth Town Development Executive Committee at Izanagi Shrine, a designated Japan Heritage site.

We successfully performed and presented the Ashū Yagyū Shinkage-ryū martial arts sword techniques, which were introduced to Tokushima during the Azuchi-Momoyama period and are still preserved today at the Kyūbukan Dojo, at Izanagi Shrine for the people of Awaji.

Izanagi Shrine is the principal shrine of Awaji Province, formerly a State-Sponsored Grand Shrine, and is recognized as a Japan Heritage site.

We are deeply honored to have performed in such a magnificent location.

We hope our modest contribution may help foster the prosperity of Izanagi Shrine and the organizing committee, the Kuniumi Myth Town Development Committee.

The Tokushima Prefecture Kobudo Association, which handled the performance arrangements for this event, includes not only those who come to learn classical swordsmanship and traditional dances, but also practitioners involved in dedicating taiko drumming and calligraphy.

If you are interested in dedicating taiko drumming or calligraphy at historic shrines or temples, please contact the Kyubukan Dojo.
